According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website, on June 13, 2026, Mongolian President Hürel Sukhu met with Wang Yi, a member of the Central Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China and Minister of Foreign Affairs, who had just arrived in Mongolia.

Hurilegsokh requests Wang Yi to convey his sincere greetings and good wishes to President Xi Jinping. Hurilegsokh stated that it is a great honor for him to have established a deep friendship and mutual trust with President Xi Jinping, and to maintain close communication, jointly leading the continuous development of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. Mongolian-China relations have become a model of relations among regional countries. The two countries always understand and trust each other, respect each other's independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. Mutual cooperation continues to deepen, and this year the goal of achieving a bilateral trade volume of 20 billion US dollars is expected to be achieved. China is Mongolia's eternal good neighbor, and friendship with China is the primary principle of Mongolia's foreign policy. The Mongolian side understands and respects China's position and concerns, firmly adheres to the principle of one China, believes that Taiwan is an inalienable part of China's territory, does not support any form of "Taiwan independence" actions, and issues related to Hong Kong, Tibet, and Xinjiang are also matters within China's internal affairs. Mongolia will not do anything that would harm China's interests due to its relations with other countries. President Xi Jinping's concept of building a community with a shared future for mankind and his four major global initiatives have played an important role in maintaining world peace and stability, and are in line with the interests of the people of the world. The Mongolian side actively supports the major concepts and initiatives proposed by President Xi Jinping, and is willing to strengthen cooperation with China in international and regional affairs.

Wang Yi conveyed President Xi Jinping's kind regards to Hurylu Suh. Wang Yi stated that China and Mongolia are connected by mountains and share a common destiny. They are eternal neighbors and comprehensive strategic partners. Under the leadership of the two heads of state, China-Mongolia relations have maintained an overall positive development trend. Both sides agree to work towards building a China-Mongolia community with a shared future characterized by peaceful coexistence, mutual assistance, and win-win cooperation. China is willing to actively discuss with Mongolia how to turn this consensus into concrete policies and practical measures, strengthen strategic trust, deepen pragmatic cooperation, consolidate the foundation of friendship, achieve common development and prosperity, and move forward towards modernization hand in hand.
Wang Yi said that China's policy towards Mongolia remains stable and continuous. China always places the development of Mongolian-Chinese relations in an important position among its neighboring diplomacy. China is willing and capable to be a reliable neighbor, a trustworthy friend, and a partner for rapid development with Mongolia. China respects Mongolia's independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, as well as Mongolia's choice of development path. A distant relative is not as good as a close neighbor. China appreciates Mongolia's decision to prioritize the development of relations with China as its primary foreign policy direction, which fully aligns with the fundamental interests of the Mongolian nation and people. We are willing to work with Mongolia to implement the important consensus reached by the two heads of state, strengthen strategic cooperation, explore further potential for collaboration, promote connectivity, energy, minerals, trade, and investment. We also intend to create more cooperation opportunities in areas such as key minerals, green development, and digital economy. China is willing to strengthen unity and cooperation with Mongolia on multilateral platforms such as the China-Mongolia-Russia framework and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. We also aim to unite and strengthen ourselves with countries in the Global South, thereby contributing to the establishment of a more just and reasonable global governance system.

During his visit to Mongolia, Wang Yi will also meet with the Prime Minister of Mongolia, Ukhirlen, and will hold talks with Foreign Minister Batsetseg.
