June 8th, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian hosted a regular press conference.
Indian media group's reporter asked that in a media interview last week, Russian President Putin discussed in detail the relations between Russia, India, and China. Putin stated that the relations between India and China are complex and delicate, and any attempt by external forces to intervene is not a good idea. He said that Russia maintains friendly relations with both India and China, and the relations between Russia and India, as well as Russia and China, develop independently. He emphasized that the development of relations between Russia and India will not come at the expense of China's interests, and there is no interference from either side. Additionally, he discussed the relations between India and Pakistan. What comments does the spokesperson have on this?
Lin Jian stated that China, Russia, and India are all emerging economies. Maintaining good relations between these three countries not only serves their own interests but also contributes to peace, security, stability, and prosperity in the region and globally. The Chinese side is willing to maintain communication with Russia and India regarding the promotion of cooperation among the three countries.
Lin Jian pointed out that at present, the situation along the China-India border is generally stable, and channels for communication between the two sides are open. Both China and India should adhere to the correct strategic understanding that they are partners, not competitors, and each other's development opportunities, rather than threats. It is necessary to view and handle China-India relations from a strategic perspective and in the long term, to enhance mutual trust, expand cooperation, properly address differences, and promote the development of China-India relations along a healthy and stable path.
"Regarding India-Pakistan relations, China has clearly stated its position on many occasions. We support both sides in resolving their differences through dialogue and consultation, and we are committed to maintaining peace and stability in the region," said Lin Jian.
