Iran-US MOU Signed After Coordination with Khamenei

According to Iranian media reports on June 30, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi stated that the memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States was reached after full coordination with the supreme leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Pezeshchiyan stated that the final text of the memorandum of understanding has undergone security reviews. "The government has maintained a stance of dignity, authority, and safeguarding national interests throughout all stages of negotiations. It is committed to upholding the rights of the Iranian people and will never yield to the coercive demands of the enemy under any circumstances."

Pezeshchiyan described the memorandum of understanding as another achievement for Iran in the diplomatic field, but some political factions and hostile media “attempted to undermine the negotiating team and question national decisions, thereby weakening this diplomatic achievement.”

He criticized that 'at present, some groups, regardless of national interests, use various accusations and slanders to attack the government; while the government, in order to maintain national unity and cohesion, has always avoided getting involved in many disputes.'

On June 18th, Mujtaba said in a public letter to the Iranian people that he had differing opinions on the Iran-EU Memorandum of Understanding. However, after receiving commitments from the Iranian President and the Supreme National Security Council to safeguard the interests of the Iranian people and the rights of the 'Resistance Front', he approved the arrangements.

Mujetta pointed out that future face-to-face negotiations do not mean accepting the US position. Iran will continue to monitor the conditions and the implementation of commitments related to the agreement.

U.S. President Trump posted on social media on the 29th, stating that Iran had requested talks, and "the talks will take place tomorrow in Doha, Qatar." However, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Baghaei said on the same day that Iran would not hold any negotiations with the United States in the coming days.
