According to CNN and Fox News, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi stated on September 24 local time that the body of Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is 'very healthy'.
On that day, Pezeshchiyan and Iran's Foreign Minister Alaei held a press conference in New York to answer media questions. Pezeshchiyan described his recent meeting with Mujtaba, stating that their last face-to-face meeting was about a month ago. The discussion lasted about 7 hours. During the meeting, both individuals sat on cushions on the ground and also got up and walked around during the session.
Pazhechiyian said that Mujeitaba is "in very good physical condition," and "I have not seen any major issues with Mujeitaba's health or physical state."
He also mentioned that there is no problem at all with Mujtaba's leadership, and that all guidelines for Iran's policy are decided by him.
On the same day, during the general debate of the United Nations General Assembly, Peyzrizhian told the media that Iran had submitted a new negotiation draft to the United States, aiming to ' reopen' the Strait of Hormuz and resume negotiations.
According to Reuters, sources familiar with the matter said that US-Iran negotiations are underway in New York to discuss a phased agreement. The content of the agreement includes Iran’s "reopening" of the Hormuz Strait in exchange for the United States lifting its economic sanctions on Iran.
In an interview with Fox News, Peserchiyan stated that Iran is still willing to continue negotiations according to the agreement signed with the United States in June this year. It has also signaled concessions on nuclear issues, including reducing the enrichment level of uranium and accepting external verification.
He also emphasized that Iran has no intention of continuing the war. “We have never sought war, and we do not seek war,” he said. He stated that if Iran were attacked, it would have to defend itself; as for whether the current conflict can be ended, “the United States must make a choice.”
On September 23 local time, Peyzeshian delivered a speech at the United Nations General Assembly, stating that Iran 'will never yield or submit', and called for joint efforts by all countries to achieve peace.
Peyzeshian said that Iran does not wish to possess nuclear weapons and will not accept restrictions on its civilian nuclear program. He reiterated that Iran is willing to live in harmony with its regional neighbors, and that regional issues should be resolved by the countries themselves within the region, rather than being interfered with by external forces.
