According to Reuters report on June 28th, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the renovation work of the East Potomac Golf Course in Washington, D.C., under the supervision of the U.S. Department of Interior, will begin in September this year. He stated that this century-old golf course will become 'one of the best golf courses in the world'.
Trump posted on his own social platform, "Truth Social," saying: "We have decided to build the world's greatest golf course on this land with abundant water sources and a view of the monument. The current course is completely unusable! The construction of the new course will officially begin on September 1, and it will progress rapidly."
Trump added that earlier that day, accompanied by U.S. Interior Secretary Bieger and golf course designer Tom Fazio, he inspected the East Potomac Golf Course and decided to begin the renovation project.

On June 28th, local time, U.S. President Trump inspected the East Potomac Golf Course.
The East Potomac Golf Course is located in East Potomac Park in Washington, D.C., and is the most popular of the three municipal golf courses in the city. The course was established in 1923, and from the course, one can enjoy views of the Washington Monument, the Jefferson Memorial, and other iconic buildings in Washington, D.C.
Trump revealed that the renovation project will be overseen by the U.S. Department of Interior, and Fazio will redesign the stadium. According to information cited by The Washington Post, the renovation will be funded through private donations.
In May of this year, the Trump administration reached an agreement with the National Ranges Trust, which operates three golf courses in Washington D.C., allowing the organization to continue managing the East Potomac Golf Course until the U.S. government completes “comprehensive renovations” of the facility. The National Ranges Trust also agreed to sign long-term leases to operate two additional golf courses within Washington D.C.
According to The Washington Post, concerns about the cost of renovating the golf course have arisen among the American public. Many people worry that this will make the East Potomac Golf Course, known for its affordability, more expensive, making it difficult for ordinary golfers to use the course anymore.
