Guo Jiaqun said that maintaining stability in the maritime situation between China and South Korea and a good order of fishery production is in the common interest of both sides. The Chinese side has always required Chinese fishermen to operate in accordance with laws and regulations, and at the same time, it firmly protects the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese fishermen. There is a relatively mature dialogue mechanism for fishery issues between China and South Korea, and close communication exists on relevant issues.

According to a previous report by Yonhap, Lee Jae-myeong said during his visit to the Peace Observatory on Yeonpyeong Island in Eungjin County, Hanincheon City on the 24th that Chinese fishing boats that illegally operate beyond the Northern Limit Line (NLL) in the western sea area should not be left unchecked. He questioned whether it is necessary to deploy law enforcement vessels for regular control, and whether the number of such vessels is insufficient. He repeatedly emphasized the need to develop countermeasures.
