Magnitude 5.1 Earthquake Strikes Honshu Island

According to @China Earthquake Network, an earthquake of magnitude 5.1 occurred at 21:28 on June 26 in Japan's Honshu Island (latitude 35.40 degrees north, longitude 139.10 degrees east), with a focal depth of 10 kilometers.

According to Japan's Kyodo News, Tokyo experienced strong shaking on the evening of June 26 local time. The Japan Meteorological Agency reported that this earthquake did not pose a risk of generating tsunamis.

Tokyo Electric Power Company said that after the earthquake, the Northeastern Shinjirinkan line, Kamikita Shinjirinkan line, and Koshin-Kenlin Shinjirinkan lines lost power and were shut down emergently. After confirming safety, all lines resumed operation about 15 minutes after the earthquake.

Japan East Sea Railway Company stated that due to power outages caused by the earthquake, the section of the Tokaido Shinkansen from Tokyo Station to Shizuoka Station is currently closed to traffic.
