On the evening of June 24 local time, after a series of strong earthquakes in Venezuela, at least 32 people were killed and 700 were injured. On that day, Venezuelan President Maduro, who is under forced control by the United States, posted messages on social media platforms in the name of Maduro and his wife.
This post reads: “A severe earthquake has devastated our country. My wife, Siliya, and I pray for all the affected families, the injured people, and all our fellow citizens who are suffering. Now, we must do three things: stay united, help each other, and take action wholeheartedly.”
Maduro said that he cares about all Venezuelans. He emphasized that no one should be left alone and helpless. Communities should take care of the elderly, children, and patients. Everyone should cooperate with rescue teams, police, military, civil defense, doctors, firefighters, and volunteers in carrying out their work.
The post states that currently the situation is difficult, and Maduro calls on the people of the country to unite, stay calm, help each other genuinely, share the hardships, and work together to rebuild after the disaster.
Maduro said that Venezuela has experienced countless challenges, and this time it will surely be able to overcome them through faith, maintaining order, and mutual assistance.
The last line of the post read: “Our hearts and blessings have always been with everyone.”

Previously, in the early morning of January 3rd, the United States launched a large-scale military strike against Venezuela, forcibly taking control of Venezuelan President Maduro and his wife and bringing them to the United States.
Public information indicates that June 24, the day of the earthquake, is a statutory holiday in Venezuela, commemorating Venezuela's independence from Spanish colonial rule after the victory in the Battle of Carabobo in 1821. Therefore, most people stay at home to celebrate the holiday.
According to the United States Geological Survey's earthquake information network, a 7.1 magnitude earthquake occurred near Montalvan in Venezuela around 6 p.m. local time on the 24th, with a focal depth of 10 kilometers. Less than a minute later, another 7.5 magnitude earthquake occurred in the same region, also with a focal depth of 10 kilometers. The magnitude of the first earthquake was later revised to 7.2.
The US Geological Survey's Earthquake Information Network also issued a red alert, indicating that this earthquake is expected to cause significant casualties and widespread damage.
The British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) reports that Venezuelan Deputy President Delcy Rodríguez said that the earthquake has caused at least 32 deaths and around 700 people have been injured. Rodríguez had previously declared a state of emergency in the country.
