On June 2nd, the Ministry of Commerces website released information regarding the implementation of measures to protect beef exports for the year 2026.
The amount of beef imported from Australia under the beef safeguard measures has reached 90% of the required quantity specified in Ministry of Commerce Announcement No. 87 of 2025 by June 1, 2026. According to Ministry of Commerce Announcement No. 87 of 2025, a 55% additional tariff will be imposed on imports of beef once the import volume reaches 100% of the required quantity (including the day itself), based on the current applicable tariff rate.
