On June 19, the Ministry of Commerce issued a notice regarding the implementation of beef safeguard measures for the year 2026. Under these safeguard measures, the import volume of beef from Australia has reached 100% of the national quota specified in Announcement No. 87 of 2025 issued by the Ministry of Commerce. According to Announcement No. 87 of 2025, starting from the third day after the import volume of Australian beef reaches 100% of the quota (at 12:00 on June 20), additional tariffs of 55% will be applied to beef imported from Australia based on the current applicable tariff rates.
