Qiu Yong represented the school and extended a warm welcome to Prime Minister Kim Min-sik who returned to his alma mater. He said that through this visit, we truly felt the deep affection that Prime Minister Kim has for our alma mater. Qiu Yong stated that a first-class university should not only possess innovative capabilities but also cultural depth. In recent years, Tsinghua University has made significant progress in opening up to the outside world, with its social influence and global reputation continuing to rise. Standing at a new starting point after 115 years of establishment, Tsinghua is willing to strengthen educational and scientific cooperation as well as cultural exchanges with various sectors in Korea, contributing more to the long-term stability and development of the strategic partnership between China and Korea.

Kim Min-sik reflected on his time studying at Tsinghua University and said that Tsinghua University is a world-renowned institution of higher learning, and its achievements in technological innovation are impressive. In November last year and January this year, the heads of state of both countries met twice and exchanged visits, laying out a blueprint and setting the direction for the development of Korean-China relations. The South Korean government attaches great importance to educational and technological cooperation with China. Kim Min-sik hopes that Tsinghua University will leverage its strengths to further strengthen exchanges with South Korean universities. He also looks forward to continuous exchanges among young people from both countries in historical, political, and cultural fields, thereby enhancing understanding and mutual trust. "I believe that our bond with Tsinghua University will continue to grow and contribute to the continued development of bilateral relations, leading to more fruitful outcomes," said Kim Min-sik.
