US to Hold Trilateral Talks with Ukraine and Russia in Abu Dhabi

According to Reuters, on November 2, senior U.S. officials revealed that the United States will hold trilateral talks with Ukraine and Russia in Abu Dhabi, UAE, from November 10 to 11.

The official said that the talks will cover topics such as ending the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, post-war security arrangements, de-escalation of the situation, and humanitarian measures.

The official said that U.S. chief negotiator Wietkow and Kusner are expected to represent the United States at the talks held in Abu Dhabi.

The official also said that U.S. negotiators will meet with representatives from France, Germany, the United Kingdom, the European Union, and NATO in Brussels this week to discuss “Ukraine’s security, the future security framework for Europe, and the economic support needed for Ukraine’s reconstruction.”

The official noted that these meetings were based on recent consultations among all parties, and “reflect the continuous efforts of (U.S. President) Trump to achieve a lasting peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine.”

Vytkov confirmed this information on a social media platform on November 2. He wrote: "The United States will mediate negotiations between Russia and Ukraine at the working-level level from November 10 to 11 in Abu Dhabi."

Reuters noted that although Trump has increased pressure on Ukraine recently, demanding that it reach some kind of agreement, there are still significant differences between Russia and Ukraine regarding any possible terms of the peace agreement.
