Kansas Man Arrested for Threatening Trumps Life

On October 19th, the United States Department of Justice announced that a 24-year-old man from Kansas had been arrested by law enforcement and charged with threatening the death of U.S. President Trump on social media.

According to reports, the man involved is Jaden J. Read. Law enforcement agencies had previously received reports indicating that he had left comments on a local TV news report about Trump’s visit to Kansas via social media, saying, “Seriously, let’s just shoot Trump. Where are our shooters?” He also mentioned that he “just obtained a gun and bullets.”

The US Department of Justice stated that, in another related news report, Reid also left a message saying, “Can we get him killed right there in Kansas? I’d be fine going myself.” About a minute later, he posted another comment saying, “I know the location of your speech, and I’ve already checked the roofs around there.”

American media believe that this statement may be hinting at the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk. In September 2025, Kirk was shot and killed while attending an event at Utah Valley University.

The report indicates that law enforcement agencies arrested Reid on October 17. The prosecution has filed a criminal charge against him under the provisions of U.S. federal law relating to ‘threatening the President’.

Trump then traveled to Park City, Kansas on the evening of October 19th, to attend a campaign rally in support of Republican candidates.
