On the 19th local time, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang mentioned China's advantages during a conversation with German Chancellor Merz: China is the only country today that combines both manufacturing and computer industries.
Huang Renxun said, "The last major industrial revolution was the electrification. Electrification led to three geographical leaders: Germany, the United States, and Japan. Over the past 50 years, due to the current industrial revolution, namely computing and digital technology, the United States has basically exported both the construction capabilities of heavy industry manufacturing and genuine craftsmanship to China. Therefore, there are now three new leaders in the world, but they are Germany, Japan, and China."
Huang Renjuan said, "China's advantage is that when they entered their own industrial revolution (or economic transformation), they happened to coincide with the era of computer industry. Their level of computerization is very high. China is probably the only country today that is deeply rooted in manufacturing as well as computer science, and can handle both with ease."
In a media interview, Huang Renxun expressed regret over Germany's lag in technological competition.
He said, "To be honest, what saddens me the most is seeing a country with top-notch technology falling far behind in the field of science and technology. I think the reason might lie in the way Europeans approach things—they overthink everything. I believe that Germany has a vast number of talented people, and they should just let things happen without excessive thought."
