According to public radio stations in Atlanta, Georgia, United States, U.S. President Donald Trump visited the swing state of Georgia on the 16th to launch intensive campaign activities for the midterm elections. He held a rally with senior Republicans in the state. During the event, he admitted that he had been wearing makeup, otherwise he would have looked like a dead person.
"You should just vote for me." Trump then made a prediction, “On Election Night, Georgia will prove that the United States does not belong to those who hate us.”
Georgia is a key swing state, different from Trump’s previous staples like Alabama, Montana, and Tennessee, which are reliably red states. This means that billionaire businessman Jackson and the two-term Federal Congressman Collins need more than just Trump’s loyal supporters to defeat their Democratic opponents, including former Atlanta Mayor Keshia Lansing Botoms and Federal Senator Jon Ossoff.
Throughout the speech, Trump spent most of his time criticizing Democratic leaders, defending the war in Iran, and promoting policies related to the US-Mexico border, rather than focusing on introducing the Republican candidate for Georgia.
He repeatedly mocked Osoff for wearing makeup when he appeared in public. He then admitted that he also wears makeup, but insisted that his makeup was ‘much lighter’ compared to Osoff’s.
Trump claimed that Osoff's spending on cosmetics set a record in Senate history.
Trump said, “He had very heavy makeup applied, and he had a dedicated makeup artist who spent all day around him. I don’t know how he did it, but he spent a lot of money on that.”
Trump stated, “The money he spent on makeup was more than any other male or female senator in history has spent. Women have many complaints about this.”
According to media reports in July, Osoff, who is seeking re-election to the Senate, has spent thousands of dollars on 'makeup services' during this electoral cycle.
According to this media, Osoff’s campaign team spent more on makeup services in 2026 than all the candidates running for federal positions.
He said frankly, “I rarely apply makeup myself; I just do a simple touch. Because if I don’t apply any makeup at all, it looks kind of like a ‘dead person’—that’s not what I want to look like.”
Trump also campaigned for Federal Representative Mike Collins and Republican State Governor candidate Rick Jackson.
Speaking of Collins, Trump said, "Mike has performed exceptionally well as a congressman, and no one is more respected than him." He also praised the candidate's appearance.
He is textbook-style senator candidate, the president commented. "If I were to choose senators for a movie, I would love to cast him as a character with white hair, an imposing physique and stature—that's exactly what I want."
Meanwhile, Trump praised Jackson as both a “talented businessman” and a “man of distinguished appearance, great demeanor, and handsome looks.”
