Fire Engulfs Historic French Indoor Market

According to French TV channel BFMTV, a major fire broke out at the ancient indoor market in France, known as the 'Market of the Red Child', from the night of October 11th to early morning of October 12th, local time. The entire market was engulfed by the flames.

Firefighters who arrived at the scene and established a security zone said that by the time they arrived, the fire had already spread. "The indoor market was completely destroyed, with nothing left."

The mayor of the central district of Paris said that the fire is now under control, but the market has been "completely burned down".

The Paris fire department revealed that firefighters have now conducted a thorough safety inspection of the affected area. They have opened each compartment and shop one by one, surveying the entire market to eliminate potential re-ignitions.
