Putin Orders No Strikes Against Ukraine on Election Day

According to Tasnews report on the 12th, Russian President's press secretary Peskov told reporters that Russian President Putin is planning to order that no military actions be carried out against Ukraine on the day of the elections in Ukraine.

The President has previously discussed this matter, and I now represent him to express that if the Kyiv side genuinely wishes to hold an election, then the Russian president will give a command to the army not to carry out strikes against Ukraine on election day. Peskov emphasized that this measure "will only be effective on election day," which is crucial.

On October 10th, U.S. President Donald Trump said that Ukraine's President Zelensky should hold elections. When discussing this matter on the 11th, Zelenskyy said, "Please tell Putin that if we get a two-month, 60-day full ceasefire, we will organize elections."

According to reports, Peskov rejected Zelensky’s proposal on December 12, which called for a complete ceasefire for 60 days in order to organize presidential elections. Peskov stated that Russia hoped to reach a comprehensive peace agreement, not a temporary ceasefire.
