According to RT, on June 7 local time, Russian President Press Secretary Peskov said that Ukrainian President Zelensky could find other ways to deliver the letter to Russian President Putin, without using loudspeakers.
Peksov said, "If you want to submit a letter—then do so. If what you use is a loudspeaker—then don’t call it a ‘letter’ at all."
Previously, Zelenskyy published an open letter on his website, suggesting that Putin should hold meetings in third countries to end the conflict.
On June 5, Putin responded by saying that he saw no point in holding any meetings. The Ukrainian side wants a ceasefire, with the sole purpose of preventing Russian forces from advancing. What Russia demands is a long-term agreement, and its duration should not be limited to just three or five months. It would be better to first have experts from both sides negotiate and develop a plan. Only after that plan is finalized can meetings and negotiations take place.
