Trump Threatens Severe Economic Damage on Iran

On the 11th local time, U.S. President Donald Trump posted a statement on social media, stating that the United States would inflict severe damage to Iran on the evening of the 11th. In the near future, the United States will take control of Kharg Island and other oil infrastructure, and fully dominate Iran’s oil and gas markets.

Trump said that such actions “are just like what we have done in Venezuela, and it’s a very good arrangement for both Venezuela and the United States.”

Halik Island is an important oil export hub in Iran. Before the US-Iran war, this island was Iran's largest crude oil export base, with 90% of Iran's crude oil being exported from here.

Trump added in an interview with Fox News that the United States "threw a bomb worth $250 million at them (Iran) last night."

Trump said that the United States “didn’t go hard enough,” but Iran “has already surrendered, just that it doesn’t even realize it yet.”

"My first choice has always been to seize Halchak Island... But I don't know if the US has that resolve." Trump said.
