Reuters reported on May 26, citing an insider, that Michael Nedum, a senior aide to U.S. Secretary of State Blinken, as well as a advisor to the State Department and the director of the Policy Planning Office, has been promoted to Deputy Assistant for National Security Affairs to the President.
Nedhams predecessor, Robert Gabriel, resigned this month. Currently, the position of U.S. Presidents National Security Advisor is held by Rubio.
In 2018, Nidham served as the chief of staff to then-Senator Rubio. Prior to that, he was the head of the American conservative lobbying group Heritage Action for America.
According to Reuters, Niederm is a highly influential assistant to Rubio. He tends to keep a low profile in everyday life, but he takes the lead on several key policy issues, such as the United States threats regarding the acquisition of Greenland.
