According to the Russian news website 'Vesti.ru' and RT, on September 6, Russian President's Assistant Ushakov said in an interview that if there is a chance, Russian President Putin may meet with US President Trump during the 33rd APEC Informal Summit. 'All the leaders are planning to attend the APEC summit, and if there is a chance, our leaders will meet with the US leaders.'
This conference will be held in Shenzhen, China in November this year.
Ushakov pointed out that if Putin and Trump meet, the content of the conversation will depend on the duration of the meeting. “I don’t know whether they will talk for 15 minutes or an hour and a half. Who knows what the schedule will be like.”
Ushakov said, “Given the importance of these bilateral contacts, we strive to include as many activities as possible in the schedule on a certain day. However, the duration and topics of the talks depend entirely on the leaders themselves. This makes sense. Therefore, at least during my tenure, we have never been able to establish a schedule that is precise to the minute.”
