According to Yonhap News, on September 1st local time, the Gyeongbuk Police Department of South Korea revealed the identity information of Zheng, the suspect in the case of a Chinese student who was killed, including his name, photo, and age.
On August 31, the Gyeongbuk Provincial Police Agency in South Korea held a meeting of the Personal Information Disclosure Committee. Considering factors such as the cruel methods used in the crime, the serious nature of the offense, sufficient evidence, and the involvement of public interests, the committee decided to disclose the suspect’s identity information.
The name of the person is Zheng Changsheng, 31 years old. His personal information will be publicly displayed on the official website of the Gyeongbuk Police Department until October 1st.

According to reports, Zheng Changsheng is a Chinese-speaking university lecturer. On August 20th, he killed a Chinese student named A at his residence in Gyeongsan City, Gyeongsangbuk-do. Subsequently, he abandoned and destroyed the body of A in Gyeongsan City, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and Gunpo City, Gyeonggi-do. He was arrested on September 25th. In order to interfere with the police investigation, Zheng actively reported A as missing and then changed into women’s clothing before going to Dongdaeou Station and turning off A’s phone. The police plan to transfer Zheng to the prosecution by at the latest on September 4th.
