According to Russian News Agency reports, on August 30 local time, Russian President's press secretary Peskov stated that there are currently no conditions for holding peace talks with the Ukrainian side in Turkey, but Russia remains open to such possibilities.
According to reports, Peskov said to reporters that before a meeting between Russian President Putin, U.S. President Trump, and Ukrainian President Zelenskyy, a long process of negotiations is necessary.
He pointed out that the purpose of such meetings is solely to finalize the agreement. The relevant agreements are not ‘simple transactions’; they must go through a very complex process that involves numerous details. Currently, there are no prerequisites for continuing negotiations with the Ukrainian side in Turkey. However, Russia remains open to such possibilities.
According to a report by the American news website Axios on August 29, two sources revealed that during a secret visit to Moscow earlier this week, CIA Director John Ratcliffe proposed a trilateral meeting between Trump, Putin, and Zelenskyy to end the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
Ukrainian President Office Head Budanov stated on September 27th during an interview with Ukrainian media that Ukraine and Russia may restart negotiations in September.
On that day, Peskov stated that he did not have any information regarding the specific plans and timing for the next round of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.
On the 28th, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Zakhariova stated that Russia has not received any proposals regarding the resumption of negotiations on Ukraine in September, neither from Ukraine nor from any other parties.
