According to a report by the Russian International News Agency on August 25, the governor of Krasnodar Krai, Veniamin Kondraidyev, reported that the coastal town of Afipskiy was attacked by Ukrainian drones in the early hours of the day, resulting in a fire at a refinery in the area.
Kondradyev stated that the attack caused damage to at least 10 residential houses, with one house being set on fire, and a refinery also caught fire. Fragments of the drone fell in the area of Afipuski railway station, resulting in 2 deaths and 2 injuries.
As of now, Ukraine has not responded to this attack.
Afilpiskie Refinery is owned by the Russian Safmar Group. It is one of the largest petroleum processing facilities in southern Russia, producing gasoline, diesel, condensate fractions, sulfur, and other products. The plant's designed capacity is to process 6.25 million tons of crude oil per year.
