At the regular press conference of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on August 21, a reporter asked: According to reports, Japanese political parties and members of the National Assembly plan to visit China next week. They stated that the current state of Japan-China relations does not serve the interests of either party. They hope to play a role in promoting the improvement of bilateral relations. What is China's comment on this?
Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Lin Jian responded by saying: “We have noticed that some prominent figures in the Japanese political parties are deeply concerned about the current state of China-Japan relations and hope to make efforts to steer bilateral relations onto a correct track. We urge Japanese leaders to pay attention to and take these voices seriously, while upholding the principles outlined in the four political documents between China and Japan, and create necessary conditions for normal exchanges between the two countries through practical actions.”
According to Kyodo News, sources revealed that Izo Shinichi, the chairman of the Japan Coalition for Moderate Reform Public Information Committee, and Koji Hashimoto, a former deputy minister of health, labor and welfare from the Liberal Democratic Party, along with other cross-party lawmakers, will visit China from the 24th to the 27th. The preparations for the delegation's visit to China are still in progress.
