According to Reuters citing Iranian media reports, on the 16th local time, Iran executed a man who intentionally drove a car into police officers during protests in January this year, causing multiple injuries.
It is reported that the man’s name is Shahram Sadeghi. He was accused of driving into a police officer in Karaj, a city in northern Iran, on January 8th. The collision resulted in injuries to seven police officers, with one of them remaining unconscious for up to three months.
According to Iran's counter-espionage laws, the Karaj court sentenced Sadeghi to death and confiscated all of his property, arguing that Sadeghi’s actions were beneficial to Israel, the United States, and other hostile organizations.
After the Iranian Supreme Court approved the death sentence, Sadeghi was executed in the early hours of the 16th of this month.
