According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Russian Pacific Fleet has been conducting large-scale military exercises in the Sea of Japan, the Sea of Okhotsk, and the waters of the Northwest Pacific since the 4th of this month.
The report stated that the military exercise was aimed at testing the capabilities of commanders in various units to direct troops within their zones of responsibility and to carry out unconventional combat missions. It also involved the joint use of high-precision weapons and new types of military equipment. Approximately 60 surface ships, submarines, and support vessels participated in the exercise, along with nearly 30 naval aviation aircraft, helicopters, and unmanned aerial vehicles. More than 13,000 military personnel were involved in the exercise.
The Russian side stated that this is a key activity for the Pacific Fleet's operational and combat training in the year 2026.
