According to Reuters, sources said that Iran is expected to receive the first batch of Chinese-made shoulder-mounted air defense missile systems in a few weeks, with a total purchase amount of up to 400 units. A Bloomberg reporter asked about this matter at the meeting, asking whether the spokesperson could confirm the information.
"We have repeatedly clarified our position on this issue. The related reports are not based on facts and are completely unfounded. China has always played a role in promoting peace and preventing conflict," said Mao Ning.
Reuters previously reported that, without providing any evidence, anonymous sources claimed that the value of the transaction contract ranged between $60 million and $70 million. The transaction involved the purchase of 300 to 400 portable air defense missile systems, including QW-12 and FN-16 missiles manufactured in China.
According to the source, the goods will be transshipped from Pakistan to Iran. In response, the Pakistan Army Public Relations Department (ISPR) stated, “The speculation about Pakistan's involvement in supplying anti-aircraft weapons from China to Iran is completely fabricated and baseless.”
