According to a report by Russian Satellite News Agency on July 27th, Russian President Putin signed an order to form several military construction units, thereby increasing the total number of personnel in the Russian armed forces to over 2.42 million.
According to the official website of Russian legal information, a presidential decree was signed by Putin on that day. This decree amended the presidential decree dated June 12th, changing the total number of members of the Russian armed forces to over 2.42 million people, including 1.535 million active military personnel.
The presidential decree signed by Putin in June stipulates that the total number of members of the Russian armed forces is more than 2.39 million, among whom 1.51 million are active military personnel.
The latest presidential decree means that the total number of personnel in the Russian armed forces will increase by 27,000 people, of which 25,000 will be active military personnel. The new order will take effect on August 1st.
