On July 22nd local time, Iran's Foreign Minister Alaaghiari posted on social media stating that Iran's principles of defense are very clear: an eye for an eye.
He wrote: "Any aggression against Iran, including attacks on our infrastructure, will elicit a strong and decisive response."
He emphasized that those who provide support for such aggressive actions, regardless of the kind of support provided, will be considered legitimate targets for attack.
According to Iran PressTV and the Iranian International Television (iranintl), on the 22nd, Majid Mousavi, commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps's Aerospace Forces, warned that any attack by the United States against Iranian bridges and power stations would be immediately retaliated against, and that the power supply of US allies in the Middle East would be cut off.
On that day, the Central Headquarters of the Iranian Armed Forces, Houthi Anbia, stated in a statement that if the United States carried out the threats made by US President Trump against Iran’s infrastructure, then the country’s oil, natural gas, electricity, and economic infrastructure would all become targets of attack.
The statement indicates that the Hormuz Strait remains closed. Any ships that wish to pass must follow the designated routes and comply with the arrangements announced earlier.
The statement emphasizes that the repeated threats from the United States and its military will only lead to an expansion of war in this region, and even its spread outside the region.
Iranian Islamic Parliament Speaker Karimov also posted on social media, stating that the logic behind this war is very clear: "Either everyone has it, or no one does."
He emphasized that if Iran cannot export oil in the region, then no other country will be able to export oil either. If Iran’s security is not guaranteed, then no infrastructure in the region will be secure.
He wrote: “The security of the region depends on the absence of US troops. We have repeatedly stated that the situation in the Strait of Hormuz will not return to what it was before the war.”
On the early days of the 22nd, Trump posted a statement on social media, threatening again that “at any time, if the Islamic Republic of Iran fires at a ship in the Hormuz Strait, whether using missiles, rockets, drones, or any other devices and weapons, the United States will bomb and destroy a bridge or power plant, including those located near or within the capital Tehran.”
