China Allows Philippines to Transport Wounded from Renai Reef

According to a report on the WeChat public account "China Coast Guard" dated July 21, a spokesperson for the China Coast Guard spoke about allowing the Philippines to transport injured persons.

According to Jiang Lue, a spokesman for the Chinese Coast Guard, on the morning of July 21, out of humanitarian considerations, China allowed the Philippine side to use shipborne boats to transfer wounded personnel from the illegal “stationed” at Ren'ai Reef, vessel No. 57, to the Philippine Coast Guard vessel No. 9702. The Chinese Coast Guard confirmed the transfer through inquiries with the Philippine vessels and monitored the entire process. The Chinese Coast Guard will continue to carry out rights protection and law enforcement activities in Ren'ai Reef and its surrounding waters in accordance with the law, to safeguard national territorial sovereignty and maritime rights and interests.
