China's Embassy in Argentina's WeChat public account posted an article on July 19:
Recently, certain parties have deliberately spread lies and false information claiming that “China interferes in the elections of other countries”, and maliciously slandered China and the Chinese Communist Party. They also incited false theories advocating for Taiwan independence. These claims ignore facts and distort right and wrong; they are completely unfounded. The Chinese side firmly opposes such actions.
Taiwan is a province of China. The Taiwan issue is a matter of China's internal affairs, and it should not be interfered with by outsiders. Attempting to manipulate the so-called "Mainland-based elections" is essentially an attempt to use Taiwan to undermine China, and such efforts are doomed to fail. China has always adhered to the principle of non-interference in internal affairs. We have no interest in, nor have we ever interfered in, the elections of other countries. On the contrary, those who interfere in the internal affairs of other countries, abuse online technology for surveillance and theft of secrets, and carry out systematic cyberattacks around the world are clearly visible to the international community. Such arguments attempt to cover up their own misdeeds with unfounded accusations against China. This is a typical example of double standards, which is shameful in the eyes of the world.
A lie, no matter how many times it is repeated, will not become truth. We advise the relevant parties to stop this ridiculous game of creating things out of nothing and judging others based on their own standards. They should also cease fabricating and spreading false information that misleads the public.
