Moscow Under Fire: 340 Ukrainian Drones Target Capital in 24 Hours

According to Reuters, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said on July 14 that in the past 24 hours, 340 Ukrainian drones flew towards areas around Moscow.

Sobyanin said that most of the drones were intercepted and destroyed by Russian air defense forces on the perimeter defenses far from the urban areas. More than 50 drones were shot down on the way to Moscow.

Ukrainian drones frequently fly near the Russian capital. Recently, Ukraine has increased its attacks on Russian infrastructure, mainly targeting oil-related facilities.

On the 14th, the Ukrainian military stated that on that day, Ukrainian forces carried out drone attacks against the Saravat petrochemical complex in the Russian Ural region, as well as the Afipuski refinery in southern Russia.

Meanwhile, Russian forces have also increased their attacks on Kiev using drones and missiles over the past few weeks.

According to reports, Russia launched a wave of drones and ballistic missiles at Kyiv in the early hours of the 14th. This is the fifth such attack on the Ukrainian capital this month.

Russian President Putin said on the 13th that any attacks against Russian territory would be countered by Russia with "equally or even much more severe measures."
