According to reports from the Iranian Tasnim News Agency on May 31, regarding the report stating that Trump has proposed new revisions to the current memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States, a source familiar with the matter said that Iran will submit its own revisions to the draft memorandum during negotiations with the United States.
The source said, The two sides are still exchanging texts. Naturally, Iran will also propose amendments to the draft. At present, nothing has been finalized yet.
The person familiar with the matter emphasized that for Iran, the key criterion is the text that it itself recognizes. This person stated that President Trumps proposal to modify the terms does not mean that Iran has accepted it. He added that Iran is fully prepared in case negotiations fail.
According to reports by the American newspaper The New York Times, Trump held a meeting with his national security team on May 29. During the meeting, he requested several changes to the memorandum of understanding with Iran. He also sent a more aggressive proposal to Iran.
The modifications made to the Memorandum of Understanding include provisions related to Irans uranium enrichment facilities. Additionally, sources revealed that Trump expressed concerns regarding the possibility of Iranian funds as mentioned in the original memorandum.
