Iranian President Denies Resignation Rumors

On May 31, officials from the Iranian Presidential Palace denied reports that President Pervazchiyan had resigned to the Supreme Leader Majid Qotbi. They said that such claims were spread by some foreign media as rumors.

The official in charge of news and communications affairs at the Presidential Palace, Tabbatai, posted a statement on social media platforms, denying any rumors regarding Pesezhiyians resignation. He said that Pesezhiyian will continue to carry out his duties and will not stop serving the Iranian people.

According to Iranian media reports, Pesezhiyan said in a speech that the government will continue to carry out its tasks with determination, until the last moment of life.

On the same day, Pesezhiyian posted on social media platforms, stating that the country is currently facing many challenges. Overcoming these difficulties requires the joint participation and support of all sectors of society. It is the responsibility of the government to clearly inform the public about the problems and realities faced by the country, thereby encouraging everyone in society to work together to solve these issues.

Pezeshizyan stated that in the face of difficulties and challenges, Iran needs to further strengthen social unity and cooperation.

In early May, officials from the Iranian presidential palace denied any differences between Pervazchi-Zeyan and senior members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard. They said that rumors suggesting Pervazchi-Zeyan might resign were merely rumors created by some media outlets to create headlines.
