Shooting at Youth Shelter Kills 4 Women, 2 Men in Germany

According to CNN, on June 29 local time, police in Stade, northern Germany, reported that a shooting incident occurred at a youth shelter in the area, resulting in the death of 4 women and 2 men.

The police said that the shooting incident also caused several people to be injured. Five people died at the scene, and another person died after being taken to the hospital. All the deceased were adults.

According to CNN citing Reuters, a German police official stated at a briefing that all victims were employees of that organization.

On the evening of the 29th, the police stated that the suspect was arrested shortly after the shooting incident occurred. The suspect is a 45-year-old Turkish-American citizen, born in Germany.

The police said in a statement: "He scheduled meetings with several staff members of the youth assistance organization regarding the custody of his three-month-old daughter."

The police said that the suspect’s daughter and her 34-year-old mother were at the scene at the time. The daughter has been placed under the care of a German youth welfare office, and the police are still taking measures against the mother.

Additionally, a 65-year-old woman was also detained by the police. The police claim she has a close relationship with the family involved in the case.
