According to Reuters, Thai police arrested an Australian man in his 40s at the airport early on the 27th. He was charged with murder and suspected of having transported the body of a 17-year-old Thai girl using a suitcase.
The suspect has been identified as Simon Peter Kamman, and faces charges of murder, hiding a body, moving or destroying a body, and taking a minor for sexual purposes.
Thai police said they reviewed surveillance footage, which showed Kaman entering an apartment with the victim. A few hours later, Kaman left alone with a suitcase, and he carried the suitcase onto a motorcycle and drove to a grassland near the railway line.
According to the Pattaya News Network, police found a suitcase near a railway track, and inside it they discovered the victim's body, which showed signs of violence.
Subsequently, the police arrested Kamman at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok as he was about to board a flight back to Australia.
