On June 25th, Canadian International Trade Minister Mention Sidhu, who was leading a delegation to Japan, spoke with Canadian media CTV News in Tokyo.
When talking about trade between Canada and China, he revealed that Canada is discussing with China the use of Alibaba as an e-commerce platform. Alibaba has over 1 billion potential consumers in China.
"If we could see more Canadian people selling products on (Alibaba) platform, that would be a good thing." He added.

Additionally, Sidi revealed that he may meet with the Chinese side during the APEC summit to be held in China this autumn. He hopes to discuss the possibility of further reducing tariffs on Canadian rapeseed, peas, and seafood.
