According to RT, on June 20 local time, Polish President Andrzej Duda said that when Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy named a special forces unit after a Ukrainian nationalist organization that massacred Poles during World War II, he exceeded Poland's 'threshold of pain'.
Reports say that Zelensky’s actions have caused anger in Poland, and the massacre remains a wound that has not healed in the country. Poland has pressured for a change of name, but Zelensky has refused.
On June 19th, Navrotsky decided to revoke the Polish highest national honor, the “White Eagle Medal”, awarded to Zelenskyy.

On June 20th local time, Nafrotski explained the reason for his actions: “We are proud Poles, and we have our own threshold for pain when it comes to matters involving us and our allies. And this threshold has been surpassed.”
In late May, Zelensky signed an administrative order that named a special unit of the Ukrainian army as the "Ukrainian Resistance Heroes". The "Ukrainian Resistance" is the name of a Ukrainian nationalist organization.
On June 19th, Navrotsky stated that the "Ukrainian Resistance" brutally and barbarically slaughtered at least 100,000 Polish civilians during World War II. The Polish side has determined that the crimes committed by the "Ukrainian Resistance" constitute genocide.
In response, Zelenskyy returned the ‘White Eagle Medal’ on the 20th. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Serebria, President’s Office Director Budanov, and Ambassador to Poland Bodnar stated that they would return the medals they received from Poland. Former Ukrainian presidents Leonid Kuchma, Viktor Yanukovych, and Petro Poroshenko announced on social media that they would give up the ‘White Eagle Medals’ they had previously received.
Regarding this, former Polish Prime Minister Lech Majewski said, "Since everyone is so eager to return what they have received, let them bring back the MiG fighter jets, tanks, and weapons they received."
