US Treasury Grants 60-Day Permission for Iran Oil Exports

According to US media reports, U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin stated on the 22nd local time that the U.S. Treasury has issued a general permission document allowing the production, delivery, and sale of Iranian crude oil and petrochemical and petroleum products for a period of 60 days.

The US Vice President Wants said earlier in the day that although Iran had previously stated that it would close the Strait of Hormuz again, there has been "significant progress" in the negotiations with Switzerland.

The United States Navy previously lifted the blockade of Iranian ports and coastal areas. Large Iranian oil tankers have now turned on their transponders and are leaving the area loaded with oil.
