On June 19th, local time, U.S. President Trump posted on social media: "War has weakened Iran. They no longer have an air force, a navy, anti-aircraft equipment, radar, or nearly anything else. Yet the Democrats say that Iran is better now than it was four months ago. Can you imagine someone saying such things? How stupid can some people be?"
He also stated in another post, “It’s not us who meet with despair, but Iran. They are finished! We will exhaust these 60 days. They won’t get any money, not even a single dime!”
On the 19th, the Swiss Foreign Ministry issued a statement stating that the planned US-Iran talks scheduled for that day in Birsfelden, Switzerland, were cancelled. On the 18th, U.S. Vice President Viscer spoke at a White House press conference, stating that the 60-day deadline set in the memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran for reaching a final agreement would begin to count from the 18th.
According to a report by the American Aksios news website on the 19th, sources familiar with the matter said that Iran's Foreign Minister Ali Aghezi plans to travel to Switzerland on the 20th, but the itinerary may change. Earlier in the report, it was also reported that U.S. Special Counsel John Wtoff is en route to Switzerland.
