According to the American 'Axios News Network', on June 19 local time, U.S. President Donald Trump said that he was joking when he referred to leaders from various countries calling themselves 'bosses' at the G7 summit, but everyone present 'believed' this statement.
On June 17th, local time, Trump arrived late at one of the meetings of the G7 summit. When he entered the venue, the other G7 leaders were already seated and had begun discussing economic issues. As Trump walked towards his seat, he stopped and declared, "I'm the boss." Laughter erupted from the crowd.
On the 19th local time, when asked how many people at the scene believed this statement, Trump replied, “Everyone believed it. But I was just joking. The situation was that they were all sitting around, and it was quite funny when I entered the room. That table was particularly long, but there were only seven people sitting at it.”
"I walked up to the group of leaders and said, 'I’m the leader, remember that.' You should still remember that. It was just a joke. This story spread all over the world, and I really didn’t expect it. I just wanted to be playful and interesting, not really intend to be the leader," said Trump.

According to Reuters and The New York Post, Trump's statement 'I am the boss' was made after the G7 leaders issued a joint statement. This joint statement may increase Ukraine's influence in potential peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine.
Trump said in a press conference on the 17th that Russia has lost more soldiers in this war than Ukraine, and claimed that Moscow is the "attacker" in the conflict.
Markel earlier that day said that Trump had shown a "real change of attitude" regarding the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
According to reports, on that day, Trump continued to demonstrate his ‘boss’ attitude, trying to take control of the G7 meeting in the morning. When Macron tried to start the meeting, Trump interrupted him and invited media personnel to stay behind. ‘Do you want to stay and attend the meeting? I have no objections.’
But French officials immediately asked the media to leave the scene. As the media left, Trump said, "It's too hot here."
