Iran's Supreme Leader Approves US MOU, Calls for U.S. Compliance

According to a report by the Islamic Republic of Iran News Agency on the 18th, Iran's supreme leader, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, issued a statement regarding the Memorandum of Understanding between Iran and the United States.

Mujtaba Hekimian stated that everyone is aware of the memorandum of understanding signed between Iran and the United States. In order to reach this document, Iranian officials worked diligently with sincerity and goodwill, while the United States used various means to push for this agreement under pressure.

Mujtaba Hamenei emphasized, "I have differing opinions on principle. However, since the President of Iran is the Chairman of the Supreme National Security Council and represents himself and all the members in safeguarding the rights of the Iranian National and Resistance Front, and is also willing to take relevant responsibilities, I agree to proceed with these negotiations."

Muqtar Bahaei revealed that the Iranian president has made it clear that if the US makes unreasonable demands, Iran will not give in.

Muqtaba Hameney said that next, he and all the Iranian people will wait for the US to fulfill all the conditions they had agreed upon earlier.

He added that subsequent face-to-face negotiations between the two parties do not mean that Iran acknowledges the position of the “enemy”.
