On Friday, local time (October 23), U.S. President Trump hinted that a new round of military actions might be taken against Iran.
During a campaign rally for the midterm elections in Florida, he said that the United States could experience another small-scale "Epic Rage" operation, or Iran might choose to compromise. Trump stated that if Iran is smart enough, it will simply say, "Let's talk about serious matters."
The United States named its air strike against Iran at the end of February this year “Epic Rage”. Trump boasted during a rally that the US military had previously destroyed and weakened Iran’s nuclear program and military capabilities. If Iran did not compromise, the US and Israeli military had plans for further strikes.
Previously, several American media reported on the 21st that the United States and Israel are developing a plan to launch a large-scale attack against Iran after the mid-term elections in November.
Sources familiar with the matter revealed that US Defense Secretary Hagel met with Prime Minister Netanyahu in Israel this week to discuss the possibility of relaunching strikes against Iran. Potential targets include Iran’s energy infrastructure, nuclear facilities, as well as missile and drone storage sites.
It is still uncertain whether Trump will approve the implementation of this plan. However, he promised voters last month that once the election was over, the Iranian regime would "soon give in."
Iranian officials revealed to The New York Times that they have access to the US-Israel combat plan and are developing countermeasures.
Iranian security chief Mohsen Rezai told Iranian television that once the strikes are resumed, Iran can add new targets to its list of attacks: data centers in the Gulf region and those associated with the United States, as well as artificial intelligence facilities and undersea communication cables.
Last month, Iran also warned that if the US continued to launch attacks, Iran would target US oil and gas assets in the Gulf region.
