RAF Hawk T2 Trainer Crashes in Wales

According to British media reports, a Royal Air Force 'Hawk T2' trainer aircraft crashed in Anglesey, North Wales.

Investigators have found that the aircraft may have lacked a fuel tank cap at the time of takeoff. Installing and checking this component is the responsibility of ground crew members. Currently, the missing fuel tank cap has become one of the important aspects of the accident investigation.

Two pilots safely ejected from the aircraft when they detected a fire in the air, and received treatment. Their injuries are believed to be minor.

According to British media estimates, the aircraft was worth over 20 million pounds (about 180 million RMB). It subsequently crashed into a farm field, causing a violent explosion.

A source added, “In the aviation industry, safety is everything. This aircraft should never have been allowed to take off without a fuel tank cap. We can only hope that this was just an accidental incident. But if even the fuel tank cap was omitted, what other problems might have been overlooked?”
