Indian Mans Eight-Month River Clean Up Effort Fails

According to an article in the Indian Times on October 14th, Indian environmental blogger Sudhrendra Singh Jodhari spent eight months cleaning the Ajinal River in Madhya Pradesh. However, just a few weeks later, when he returned to the river, he found that a large amount of plastic bags and other waste had accumulated again in the river.

Jodori lamented on social media: "I never thought that all of my eight months of hard work would be wasted like this."

He said that the condition of the river water disappointed him, but he did not leave immediately. Instead, he decided to clean the river water again and sought suggestions from netizens for more effective ways of garbage removal.

He started his cleanup efforts on January 26th this year. Although he initially worked with a few friends, it soon turned into a task that he had to carry out alone.

Due to the lack of professional tools and safety equipment, and because he couldn't swim, he had to use his hands to clear several tons of trash from the river. As a result, he suffered from infections in his limbs and skin rashes on several occasions, and even encountered snakes.
