According to Reuters, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on social media platform Telegram on October 11 that Ukraine would stop attacking Russian refineries if Moscow ceased attacks on Ukrainian energy infrastructure.
Zelenskyy emphasized that any measures to ease the conflict must be mutual and effectively implemented.
Zelenskyy said that he will continue to discuss with European leaders on the 11th. Currently, all parties are discussing the issue of providing Ukraine with additional air defense equipment, including ammunition required for fighter jets.
Previously, U.S. President Donald Trump announced on October 9 that he had reached a diesel supply agreement with Russian President Vladimir Putin, and relaxed sanctions on Russian diesel exports in order to ease the pressure of rising fuel prices in the United States. This move caused strong dissatisfaction among Zelenskyy, who criticized the U.S. decision as “weak” and described it as a “gift” given to Putin.
Trump said to reporters outside the White House on the 10th that Zelenskyy's continued approval of attacks on Russian refineries is "trying to cause trouble for the whole world".
He best stop me right now. Trump said and suggested that Ukraine should "swap a new leader who can strike a deal."
