According to a message posted on the WeChat public account "Chinese Embassy in the Kingdom of the Netherlands" on October 8, the Dutch security authorities released a report recently, reiterating claims that Chinese hackers are using edge devices to increase cyber attacks against the Netherlands, which could severely damage China's image. In response, a spokesperson for our embassy stated the following:
The relevant reports from the Dutch side are filled with false statements and unfounded accusations against China. China expresses strong dissatisfaction and firm opposition to this. China is one of the main targets of cyberattacks, and has always resolutely stopped and cracked down on various forms of malicious online activities in accordance with the law. Cybersecurity is a common challenge faced by all countries. We advocate that countries should strengthen international cooperation based on mutual respect and mutual benefit, and jointly address cybersecurity challenges through dialogue.
The Chinese side urges the relevant Dutch authorities to view the efforts made by China to combat cyberattacks objectively and rationally, and to stop making unfounded accusations against China on the issue of network security.
