Recently, Zheng Jiyan, who claimed to be a former employee of China Telecom, reported the situation online under his real name, which has attracted widespread attention.

On the afternoon of October 6th, the Corporate Services Department of China Telecom Co., Ltd. posted a picture on its official WeChat account titled “China Telecom Government and Enterprise Services”. The post mentioned that information regarding Zheng Jiyan was found. “Zheng Jiyan was once an employee of our department. Since 2023, he has been absent from work without reason for 635 days, and attempts to persuade him were unsuccessful multiple times.” According to relevant regulations, the labor relationship with Zheng Jiyan will be terminated according to the law on August 31st, 2026.

As for the industrial Internet big data center project mentioned by Zheng Jiyan, the Large Customer Department of China Telecom Corporation Limited stated that an internal review was conducted in 2024, and his statements do not correspond to the facts.

According to previous reports by the Economic Guide, on October 5th, an anonymous whistleblower named Zheng from the former China Telecom Group reported several senior executives of China Telecom. This report, after being published in the media, attracted significant attention in the market. According to the information disclosed by Zheng, he was involved in the 'National Industrial Internet Big Data Center' project. He alleged that the project had issues such as organized bid rigging and contract fraud, and he suspected that illegal funds worth 38 million yuan were obtained through these actions.

In addition, the project accounts were also accused of improper diversion of funds, unauthorized promotions of individuals with existing problems, and mutual transfer of personnel interests between government agencies, enterprises, and labor unions.

According to Zheng, he had previously raised issues through internal channels. In June 2026, he was unilaterally dismissed from his job. Subsequently, he reported the situation to the disciplinary inspection authorities and made public the relevant materials.
