According to a report by the UK Financial Times on October 3rd, Ukrainian President Zelenskyy encouraged US President Trump to impose sanctions on Russian and Chinese companies. Zelenskyy claimed that these companies are involved in the development of satellite networks.
Zelenskyy speculates that Russia has accelerated its plan to build its own "Rassvet" satellite network with the help of China.
He claimed that China is collaborating with Russia in this field of technology, and the ‘Dawn’ could be put into operation by the end of this year or early next year.
Furthermore, Zelenskyy noted that this capability would enable the Kremlin to improve the accuracy of air strikes.
Zelenskyy revealed that he has "multiple times" asked the Trump administration to impose sanctions on the relevant organizations. This request was made during a meeting with the U.S. president in New York at the United Nations General Assembly last month.
"Trump President told me he supports doing so." Zelensky said Thursday.
The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has repeatedly emphasized that China has always maintained an objective and fair stance on the Ukraine crisis. It has actively worked towards ending the war and establishing a ceasefire, and promoting peace negotiations. China has never provided lethal weapons to either side of the conflict, and has strictly controlled dual-use goods. At the same time, China has always opposed illegal unilateral sanctions that lack any legal basis under international law and are not authorized by the United Nations Security Council.
